Sometimes I think I’m a mental adolescent. I scare myself. Case in point: last week while channel surfing, I stopped on Boomerang Cartoon Network and wound up watching like 3 episodes of The Huckleberry Hound Show (can you say crazy?).
It brought back fond memories of my childhood and Saturday mornings filled with hours of cartoon watching. I loved Magilla Gorilla, Mr. Jinks with Pixie and Dixie (they were the absolute cutest mice on the planet) and Hokey Wolf.

Somehow the sweet little blue dog and his southern drawl on my tv screen also made me think of one of my favorite kids meals – Grilled Cheese. Mmmmm. Buttery crusty bread filled with ooey gooey orangey cheese. I’m still hankering for one and am currently recipe searching for a delicious adult version I can make in my own kitchen. I'll keep you posted.

Yes folks, even cartoons can make me think of food. It’s disturbing.
P.S. - You can watch Huckleberry in action here.
PARALLEL UNIVERSE??
ReplyDeleteIt is with wonder that I contemplate
the forever young at heart - CAPRICORN. Yesterday I found myself feeling a bit
"out of sorts". Thinking I may have picked
up a bug or something from the gym I
decided on a little mid-day nap. But
before so, I assembled my lunch - The
Chicken Meatball Soup (that Mark had made after the first sniffle was sniffed) and
a sandwich that I have been wanting to try.
A Melted Gruyere and Apricot Chutney on Ciabatta. Hopping between the percales
I anticipated on my arising this wonderous
lunch. I suddenly realized that I cannot
sleep when it's daylight out so.. I flipped
on the TV to a GARFIELD and ODIE CARTOON, chuckling, then laughing out loud.
This on the very day that I received my
very first social security check.
Imagine - Exactly 1251.97 miles away in the Jerz the same scenerio was being played out... Capricorns Cartoons and Melted Cheese Sandwiches....Hmmm
