Sloppy and Good

Here’s the deal. I love a good Sloppy Joe sandwich. I’m sure if you’re from North Jersey you know that Town Hall Deli in South Orange is the place to get one. Theirs was named to the Playboy.com Best Sandwiches in America list and they were featured on Roker on the Road on Food Network. Their Joe is perfection.

Sometimes I don’t feel like driving to South Orange for a sandwich....so I go to Fairchild’s in Roseland where they make Sloppy Joes the *same exact way* as Town Hall Deli (I think one of the guys at Fairchild’s used to work at Town Hall). Tons of turkey, or whatever meat you select, and Swiss cheese piled high on razor thin rye with homemade Russian dressing and coleslaw for a mix that is tangy and sweet. Perfectly balanced. Sandwich heaven.

Pair your sandwich with a bag of these for full out lunch time excellence.

  2. If there is ANYTHING better for lunch than a good sandwich (or burger) please let me know!
My first recollection of a "sandwich" was with my Mom and Sis at the counter of CHOCK FULL OF NUTS in downtown Newark. On razor thin bread (as afore mentioned) their zesty chicken salad
was superb. Mom would pair hers with a cup of their divine coffee (something I thought terribly sophisticated in my pre-teen - pea brain mind) and Sis and I would go for the frosty chocolate milk. Their signature brownie would follow....Here in Boca in Mizner Park we have THE CHEESE COURSE - a delightful little European country style Bistro where one can sit under the vine and scarlet hibiscus covered trellis eating over thick slab wooden tables and enjoy their Artisian made sandwiches- Mine being #10 Sopressata salami/provolone /sundried tomatoes/black olive tapenade/EVO/balsamic and greens on a To Die For crunchy Italian bread.
THE CHEESE COURSE features specialty cheeses from dairies all over the world and they are
phenomenal! WE ARE THERE for their twice a month Friday night complimentary wine & cheese tastings.
Mikey would definitly approve the wine list!
