Salty Goodness

The 4th of July holiday weekend brought excellent firework viewings and excellent dining experiences for us. In addition to seeing the glorious Macy’s fireworks over the Hudson, we got to see the Red Bank fireworks on the Navesink River while eating at Salt Creek Grille.

Salt Creek Grille is the perfect representation of the real estate rule involving location, location, location. It sits right on the Navesink River in Rumson, NJ and boasts truly spectacular views from almost every table. It is an architectural feast for the eyes with dark Craftsman wood and an open, airy floor plan with large booths for comfy seating. The mesquite grill cuisine is the big draw at this gorgeous hangout.

The restaurant originated in Dana Point, CA so the cuisine is almost rustic meets California casual. The menu offers mesquite grilled hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, tangy barbeque ribs, pork chops, burgers and sandwiches. You can view their menu here.

Standouts include the Caesar over Mesquite Salad. In this version the Romaine is left whole and grilled until the lettuce tastes smoky. It is served with traditional Asiago Caesar Dressing and some awesome croutons. Also, don’t miss out on the basket of 1000 garlic fries. Be forewarned that these guys are insanely addictive and you will finish the basket. By yourself.

If you get the chance to experience Salt Creek Grille’s hospitality and impressive offerings do so. You’ll enjoy the food and the spectacular views of the Navesink. I promise. Pinky swear.
